Journal: My White Board Calendar

White Board Calendar

My white board calendar.

I stayed up late last night to finish catching up on Season 3 of Game of Thrones and watch the first episode of season 4. Our cable company had a free streaming access deal going on through yesterday, and we decided to take full advantage of it. It was definitely worth postponing non-critical tasks and a later start this morning to enjoy some seriously good TV.

The one work task I did accomplish earlier today was updating my white board calendar. The poor thing hadn’t been touched since January. In the grand scheme of things, updating my calendar board seems a lower priority than most tasks. However, I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my business and myself when I keep the calendar up to date versus when I don’t. When the calendar is current I feel more focused, I can clearly see what the month looks like and where things stand financially, and I’m less likely to (oops!) forget to pay a bill. I also seem to have better online sales, which I assume is related to me being better on track. These last couple months have been just the opposite of that with the board being out of date. From now on, updating my calendar board will be my highest priority on the first regular workday of the month. It’s such a simple thing, but it makes such a big difference!

What tools do you use to keep yourself on track? Do you use a wall calendar too?

White Board, iphone calendar, & a mini pocket calendar for quickly writing down appts. I transfer every appointment and task onto each calendar. It works for me.
OH we did the Game of Thrones marathon with the freebie week too!
