Journal: Spring Quarter 2014

My write up on Emerald City Comicon is taking longer than I expected, but I am making progress. Sometimes the articles in my head are bigger than I realize before I start writing them. I hope to have it finished before the end of this week because I’m eager to share what I learned.

I spent most of this morning figuring out what to do about my Spring quarter classes. After much self-reflection and discussion with my hubby, I decided to withdraw from Public Speaking. Even with disability accommodations, I felt that the workload would be pushing it for me right now. Setting up and organizing several speech events and the class’s demanding schedule would be a challenge even when my health is at its best. It would have taken a significant amount of time away from my jewelry business and that is not something I’m willing to do at this time.

This afternoon I officially dropped Public Speaking and checked to see what else might be an option. When I saw 2 open spaces for the online Intro to Communication class, I registered right away. I’m currently waiting for the online class software to recognize that I’m registered so I can check out the syllabus and class materials. If it ends up that I’m not ready for this one either, I will drop it and focus on keeping up better with my music theory class this quarter. It’s more important to me not to bite off more than I can chew (which is a bad habit of mine) than it is to graduate June 2015.
